Walid A. Chammah (born April 12, 1954, Lebanon) is a former Morgan Stanley executive. He was Chairman of Morgan Stanley International and served as a member of the Morgan Stanley Management and Operating Committees. In January 2012, the company announced internally that Chammah was retiring and would become a senior advisor to the firm.
Between September 2007 and December 2009, Chammah was Co-President of Morgan Stanley, overseeing the Firm's Institutional Securities business and operations. He was based in London.
Chammah is a private advisor to Igor Sechin, president of Rosneft. Chammah is chairman of Rosneft's Management Board and a member of the Supervisory Board of Rosneft Bank.

Early life and education
A native of Lebanon, Chammah graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1976. He emigrated to the United States in 1976 and received a master's degree in International Management from American Graduate School of International Management in 1977.

Career
Chammah joined Morgan Stanley in 1993 as Head of U.S. Debt Capital Markets. In 1996, he was promoted to Worldwide Head of Debt Capital Markets Services. In 2001, Chammah's responsibilities were extended to include Worldwide Leveraged Finance and in 2002, he formed and was Head of the Global Capital Markets Group, which combined the Firm's debt and equity capital markets activities. In 2005, Chammah was named Global Head of Investment Banking and in September 2007 he was named Co-President of the firm, a position he held until December 2009.
Before joining Morgan Stanley, Chammah was a managing director of Credit Suisse First Boston, responsible for U.S. Taxable Fixed Income Capital Markets and Structured Finance Groups. Earlier in his career, Chammah worked for the First Boston Corporation and Blyth Eastman PaineWebber.
Personal life
Chammah married Karin Zumtobel of Bregenz, Austria on July 12, 1999. They have four children: Alexandra Roosevelt Chammah (The George Washington University), Isabella "Issy" Roosevelt Chammah (Duke University), Anthony A. Chammah (Duke University) and Luca Jürg Chammah (Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle)
